Terror attack in J&K on Hindu pilgrims bus; 4 killed from Jaipur

Terrorists attack on a bus carrying pilgrims to Vaishno Devi; the incident occurred in J&K near Shivakhoda temple; 4 people from Jaipur killed.

In Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists attacked a bus carrying pilgrims at 6:15 pm on Sunday evening. 10 people were killed, including 4 from Jaipur. This attack took place an hour before PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony in Delhi.

Terrorists fired on the bus

The terrorists opened fire on the bus going from Shiv Khodi to Katra in Kanda area. According to the injured eyewitness, there were 2 terrorists at the spot in army-like uniforms. They fired 25-30 bullets. The driver got injured and the bus fell into the ditch. Total of 10 people were killed and 41 injured. Of these 4 people killed were from Jaipur. 

On June 5, the family went to visit Vaishno Devi. All the people had boarded a train from Jaipur railway station and then went to Jammu. From Jammu they boarded a pilgrimage bus of Arun Travels and went for darshan of Vaishno Devi. After this, they went to Shiv Khodi in the same bus for darshan. While returning from there the terrorists opened fire on the bus. Pooja, Livansh, Rajendra and Mamta died in the attack, while Pawan is seriously injured. The information about the incident was received by a relative at 9:15 pm on Sunday night.

All the deceased are members of the same family. 

All four people killed in the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir are members of the same family. Rajendra Saini (42), son of Hanuman Sahay Saini, resident of Ward 5, Panchyawali Dhani, Chaumun (Jaipur) and his wife Mamta Saini (40) were killed in the attack. Rajendra’s elder brother Omprakash’s daughter Pooja Saini (30), resident of Ajmera, Dhani, Harmada (Jaipur) and Pooja’s son Livansh alias Kittu (2) have died. Pooja’s husband Pawan Saini (32) is seriously injured and is undergoing treatment in Katra hospital.

Rajendra Saini’s elder brother Omprakash Saini said – Younger brother Rajendra used to run a readymade clothes shop in the shopping complex behind the government hospital of Chaumu. My son-in-law Pawan runs an e-Mitra shop in his village.

Demanding compensation and government jobs to the deceased

Omprakash has demanded strict action against the terrorists. Also demanded compensation and giving a government job to one of the family members. The deceased Rajendra and Mamta have three children. Eldest daughter Varsha (21) is doing a B.Ed. Son Rahul (19) is studying in college, while youngest son Lucky (17) is studying in school. The news of the death of Rajendra and Mamta has not been given to their children.

Injured Pawan Saini discharged from hospital Pawan Saini, a resident of Chaumun (Jaipur), injured in the terrorist attack, has been discharged from Narayan Hospital in Katra. Pawan has a fracture in his leg. The family members have reached Jammu in two vehicles. 

Arrangements are being made to bring the dead bodies

Talks are going on with the Jammu and Kashmir district administration on behalf of Jaipur District Collector Prakash Rajpurohit. Teams have been sent by the district administration and police administration to the houses of Rajendra and Pawan. On Monday evening, all four bodies will be sent to Jaipur by Pooja Express train. The train will reach Jaipur around 9.40 am on Tuesday. The body is likely to reach Chaumu by 11 am.
